The Natursutten pacifier is made in the EU from 100% natural rubber, from the tree Hevea Brasiliensi. The protein that on rare occasions can irritate latex allergy has been removed from the rubber mass of these pacifiers.
The entire protective shield is soft, smooth and flat, allowing for free and natural oral muscle activity and development. The shield is larger than conventional pacifier shields in order to prevent the baby from squeezing the flexible material enough to fit into its mouth. The shield also does not leave marks on the baby's face.
Rubber is naturally more resistant to sharp teeth than silicone, inhibiting small pieces from being bitten off and swallowed.
The grip ring makes it easy for the child to hold the Natursutten pacifier. Grip ring, shield and nipple all feel great against gums of the teething child.
The Natursutten pacifier is molded into one piece; the nipple, shield, and grip ring are connected securely, thus preventing choking hazards by pulling the pacifier apart. This also means there are no joints for bacteria buildup.

stinky binky is not worth the money, 11.6.2010

I was disappointed in this binky. I read a review after ordering it that said the pacifier smelled "like a condom" and that it was supposed to be replaced every four or five weeks. I wouldn't have bought it if I had known that. It didn't smell much right out of the box, so I just rinsed it in hot water. When I gave it to my 12 month old, he didn't seem to love it, and then I noticed the odor. So I boiled it five minutes as recommended, but it seemed to smell just as much or more after that (although my husband didn't think it was stinky--go figure :o)
If it was just the smell, that wouldn't be so bad, but it also attracts lint and everything else like crazy, and it seemed harder for my son to keep in his mouth. He liked it fine and went to sleep with it with no objections, but it was inconvenient to bring along any where, as there is no oover or container for it and everything sticks to it, as I said. I was excited that it would be so easy to clean, but it has to be rinsed so much, that it's not worth it.
Then my three year old found it and chewed it right up. He's put other silicone binkys in his mouth before and gnawed a bit with no damage, but this expensive five-week binky was completely destroyed after one week in our house.
I've decided that the amount of phthalates/PVC/BPA my baby may be exposed to sucking on a silicone nipple binky with plastic "frame work" isn't worth worrying about, if this is the best alternative.
