When we first saw the new for 2009 Thinkbaby Feeding Set ($39.99) at the ABC Expo in Las Vegas last September we thought it was going to be a winner. Now that we've seen the final product we can confirm that our initial impressions were right on target.

From quality construction to thoughtful design elements the Thinkbaby Feeding Set has everything going for it. But there is something even more important to us here at The Glass Baby Bottle...Thinkbaby is proactive when it comes to producing toxin free baby and toddler products and that is an attitude we love to see. Unlike some companies that were scrambling to react to recent BPA publicity, Thinkbaby was, and still is, ahead of the curve.

What's In The Set
The Thinkbaby Feeding Set is comprised of a bento box with air-tight, leak-proof lid, lidded soup and baby bowls, and a cup -- all fashioned with food-grade stainless steel liners and insulating non-toxic polypropylene exteriors. Rounding out the set are matching spoon and fork. Everything is dishwasher safe (top rack recommended).

Nontoxic Food Storage
Nontoxicity is the primary prerequisite for any TGBB product, and here Thinkbaby comes through on all fronts. The entire feeding set is free of not only BPA, but phthalates, PVC, melamine, nitrosamines and lead as well.

You may not have heard of melamine as being a potential toxin but this is where Thinkbaby errs to the side of caution. The mere possibility that melamine, under certain conditions, could pose a risk led Thinkbaby to manufacture the entire set melamine free.

The Bento Box
This is our favorite component primarily because of the clamp-on air-tight, leak-proof lid. We've tested the lid and it really lives up to its claims. The insulating plastic exterior can be separated from the steel liner for easy cleaning. This one might end up in the CamelBac for hiking/biking trips. Holds 9 oz.

The Baby Bowl
The 10 oz. low-sided baby bowl is harder to knock over for those rare occasions when toddlers get carried away while eating. The bowl is insulated and, when feeding time is over, can be placed in the refrigerator with lid for toxin free food storage.

The Soup Bowl
The 10 oz. high-sided soup bowl works well for cereal, soups, spaghetti and plenty of other kid foods. The gentle contours of the liner bowl make it easier for learners to scoop food. Like the baby bowl, it is insulated and comes with a tabbed, snug fitting orange lid, making it easy to distinguish from all your other lids.

The Cup
The 7 oz. Thinkbaby cup is designed to bridge the gap from sippy cups to adult cups. The handle is meaty enough for small hands without being too large. The base of the handle separates enough to allow clipping to straps (say, on your diaper bag) though we don't think you'll be able to clip it to something as wide as a stroller handle. Like all the other components, the cup is also insulated.

The Spoon & Fork Set
As you might expect, the spoon and fork are contoured with toddler-sized hands and mouths in mind. Manufactured from nontoxic polypropylene they incorporate thermoplastic rubber handles for easy grip. This set is more than an afterthought and we think you'll end up prefering it to most all "baby" spoon/forks in your drawer.

Whether home or on the go, in the realm of nontoxic food containers, the Thinkbaby Feeding Set is setting a new standard. The fact that it doubles as a feeding set as well as food storge really helps set it apart. Furthermore, though designed for toddlers, we wouldn't be surprised to see toxin-adverse adults getting into the act. We anticipate this being one of the most in demand products of 2009.
