Which baby bottles will work with different brands of nipples? Which nipples will work with different brands of baby bottles?
There is nothing more frustrating than your baby not taking a bottle. Your baby is obviously hungry but for some reason rejecting the bottle and nipple combo that you are using.
If you think your baby does not like the brand of nipple due to maybe size, flow, or shape. It may be time to try out some different options.
Rather than buy a whole new set of bottles you can try using different brands of nipples that may be compatible with your current brand of bottles.
The Baby Bottle Nipple Compatibility chart was designed for parents whose babies are having a hard time with whichever bottle and nipple you are currently using.
How to use different nipple brands with your baby bottles.
Some standard guidelines are to use wide neck nipples on wide neck bottles, and standard or regular nipples with regular neck baby bottles.
Also, as a general rule of thumb, if a bottle is vented to help prevent colic it is best to use only the nipple designed for that specific brand of bottle. Vented bottles tend to leak and cause irregular feeding when a non-brand-specific nipple is used. But, if you have already spent a small fortune on your vented bottles it may still be a good idea to invest in some different nipples and see if you can make it work.

Do you usually breastfeed and are trying to switch to bottle feeding?
Try putting a few drops of breast milk on the bottle nipple. Also, try having someone else give your baby a bottle for a while.

Tips for baby bottle nipple collapse.
Anything that causes a vacuum within the baby bottle can lead to the nipple collapsing during feeding. Which leads to frustration for the baby and caregiver.
The following conditions can create nipple collapse even with a compatible bottle/nipple combination:
- The collar is too tight — if you tighten the collar and nipple too tightly onto the neck of the bottle, you are more likely to have the issue of nipple collapse. Keep the collar on just tight enough to prevent the liquid from dripping out.
- Nipple flow rate is too slow — if your baby is an aggressive feeder for his/her age the age, ranges for different stage nipples may not apply. If the nipple flow rate is too slow it can easily lead to nipple collapse. Try using a nipple with a faster flow rate.
